After months of uncertainty and reflection, experimenting and reinventing the festival in new ways, it is with great joy that we can announce that Nuits sonores will host standing shows for its reunion with the audience.
Since March 2021, when the French Ministry of Culture announced that the summer festival season would have the public sitting down, the Arty Farty team have shown their determination by working to put together a “special edition”, proposing an alternative experience of the festival, bringing together both new forms and strong markers of the festival’s DNA.
We turned to what seemed to us to be the essential: a reunion with the public, the artists, the volunteers, all those who have participated to Nuits sonores for 18 years.
Since May, thanks to the plan to end the state of health emergency, many announcements have been made in the sense of a progressive easing of the health constraints for the festivals of this summer 2021. After a long period of doubt, after weeks of following the evolution of the sanitary situation and waiting for the definitive framework set by the public authorities, we can confirm with joy and relief that the reunion of the Nuits sonores festival with the public will take place standing up for this special edition! This decision marks a return to life, but above all to dance: a form of freedom of expression at the heart of our identity.
To celebrate this good news, the main events of the festival are extended by one hour, in order to enjoy an increased and adapted artistic program that we will unveil on Tuesday June 22nd.
