Are you ready for a couple of rock-solid thigh chatters? In Juliet you can see the comedy and cabaret cannons of the Netherlands with their very best jokes and special performances. After a few years of absence, the Romeo tent also returns where the sharpest stand-uppers in the Netherlands appear at the microphone. Today the comedy program of Lowlands 2021 will be announced!
Tineke Schouten as Stefano Keizers: Yes: the queen of laughter and the emperor of the experiment do it exclusively at Lowlands 2021. This is going to be special, at the very least, and perhaps nothing less than legendary.
Tim Fransen: Witty, hilariously wise philosopher has an eye for the peaks and flatteners of the human race in this exclusive Lowlandstry-out; from computer to dickpic, from vaccine to conspiracy theory.
Nina de la Parra: This feminist wants to understand people, but at first she is just as sweet as to wipe the chaos in her own head. The most acclaimed performance of the past year.
Alex plow:Quick, hard prankster he returns with an energetic dose of blunt and razor-sharp humour that takes on the insane struggles with ourselves.
Comedy Club Haug: In this Rotterdam club, novice pranksters train and established stand-uppers test their new material. But are they ready for the lion’s den?
Comedytrain: This stand-up incubator not only delivers our best comedians and comedians, but also puts on the hottest comedy show in Biddinghuizen for years. With whom? surprise!
Kasper van der Laan: Unpredictable absurdist, who kicks the joke accelerator even more brutally every time you think his story can’t get more bizarre.
Maartje &Kine: Hypermuzikale play animals return to Lowlands with songs that are bolder and more personal than ever. Perhaps the hardest working artists in the Netherlands, so come off.
Rayen Panday: This unguided joke projectile marvels at everything, shakes a madhouse of type out of his sleeve and has the best stories of hilarious culture clashes.
The following names have also been confirmed for the comedy program Anne Neuteboom, Janneke de Bijl, Jeroen Leenders, Johan Goossens, Kim Schuddeboom & Bugra Gedik, Lisa Ostermann, Mark Waumans, Merijn Scholten, Rosa da Silva, Victor Luis van Es, Yunus Aktas & Sezgin Güleç and a mysterious guest on Friday evening.
In Juliet you will be received by MC Soundos el Ahmadi and in Romeo MC Howard Komproe introduces the program. A comprehensive overview of the full comedy programme can be found here.
Time Out Cafe
After a year of home fidgets, what was already an issue for corona got completely out of hand: the mental health of young people. Stress and burnouts among students and young starters are now the order of the day – but it’s almost nowhere on the agenda. Except in the new Time Out Caféin Romeo on Cape Lowlands, where they look at a healthier future for young people every day from 11:00-12:00 with an open and positive outlook. And then not sipping over a steaming cup of tears, but just cozy with music, theatre, humor, interaction and curiosity. What is it like to be young in this performance society? And what solutions and ideas are up for grabs? Talk to me, and we’ll just sort it out ourselves.
Earth Today
Last week we announced our collaboration with EarthToday.EarthToday has found a unique way to drive the protection of our planet. Because science is long gone. We must have protected at least 50 percent of The Earth from land pickers and climate killers by the year 2050, otherwise there will be no more rescues. We don’t have 30 years for that, so there’s a rush.
With the help of a public pot of gold, EarthToday protects so-called Units of Nature (uon):1 square meter of land per piece somewhere in the world such as in Brazil, Kenya, Portugal, Argentina and in our own Brabant. These are then placed under the management of nature and animal protection organisations, which must meet strict requirements. So we save a few football fields of rainforest here and a thick piece of wetlands there; the sky is literally the limit, while untouched nature spreads across the Earth like a green oil slick.
For €1.20 per m², that’s the deal of the century, especially if all Lowlanders join forces. To show that we are serious, we reserve the first 60,000 square meters – one uon per Lowlander on LL21 – which amounts to a nature reserve the size of three-and-a-half times our Alpha area.
