Two years already.2 years that festival-goers didn’t sing and danced to their bodies. 2 years that the volunteers did not gather around a sausage and chips. 2 years that the technicians did not unload their flight case on stage. 2 years we did not have the pleasure of sharing a coffee with our suppliers and suppliers. 2 years without anecdotes, without shivers, without memories, without you.
No more concerts streamed from his couch, the time for a reunion has come! Of course, this appointment is not the one we had imagined. The framework imposed by the Ministry of Culture is restrictive but it gives us the opportunity to see each other again, to vibrate, to be moved. All together.
While many formulas have been considered for this 2021 edition, cancellation has never been on the agenda. The desire to propose an event has only grown over time, leaving behind the tragic prospect of a second white year.
For our territory and for all those who work for the success of the festival year after year, we want to offer you the best possible reunion. The format, compatible with the measures imposed, will be reconciled with the values of mutual aid and solidarity that have been the strength of the association since its inception.
Impossible is not Butterflies. Never mind, despite the obstacles and the many pitfalls that have marked the path of our organization, we have been working hard for months to offer you a different but no less generous event, unprecedented but ambitious.
?New dates, new site, new name!?
We had already changed dates, to have the opportunity to perform our event in the best possible conditions.
We also had to change places. Indeed, it seemed impossible for us to carry out such an event in Saint-Laurent-de-Cuves. For safety and accessibility reasons, the usual site is not suitable for this new format. So we’ll find our iconic and beloved oak tree in 2022.
This summer, from August 18 to 22, find L’Effet Papillons at Villedieu-les-Poêles racecourse.
A small cousin of Butterflies of The Night, this ephemeral event will offer 5 evenings of concerts. As usual, it’s a varied and colorful program that will await you, mixing national headliners and regional discoveries.
The full programme will be unveiled in June.
This timeless musical parenthesis is a necessity. A need to blow a wind of lightness and cheerfulness on our Norman bocage.

?Box Office and refunds?
The Ticket Office of The Butterfly Effect will open in June. This will be a specific ticketing for this new event and tickets you already have for a classic edition will not be able to be used. Tickets will only be valid for the day (no 2 and 3 day passes) and there will be no camping on site.
All Night Butterfly tickets purchased in 2019 and 2020 remain valid for 2022! You can also request a refund and make a donation to the association to support the organization of the festival. Refunds are open from May 10 to June 7, 2021. To make your request, click the button below.
